Therapy for anxiety.

In-person & online therapy in Austin & across Texas for women who crave relief from worry, panic, and constant overthinking.

Anxiety has become an unwelcome guest that refuses to leave.

It has you caught in loops of worst-case scenarios, replaying conversations, or trying to stay one step ahead. When you tell yourself to “just relax,” the worry doesn’t stop, which makes you feel even worse.

  • Avoiding situations or people that trigger anxiety.

  • Physical discomfort such as muscle tension, racing heart, shallow breath, or digestive issues.

  • Difficulty relaxing or feeling “on edge” all the time.

  • Fixating on a problem, unable to quiet the worries that keep running through your mind.

Maybe you’re struggling with…

How therapy for anxiety works

Helping you feel safe in your own mind.

You’ve dubbed yourself as a “type A” person. You’ve learned how to anticipate problems, stay one step ahead, and keep everything running smoothly. But the constant planning, analyzing, and worrying has taken a toll. Imagine living in a body that no longer feels like it’s always on high alert. Where you can sit down at the end of the day and actually feel at ease. That buzzing sense of urgency begins to quiet. You stop rehearsing how you’ll respond to disaster and start trusting yourself to handle what comes. You begin to breathe deeply, like someone who finally feels safe inside their own mind and body.

Our sessions will be a space where you can slow down, be heard, and gently unlearn the idea that anxiety is the only thing keeping you protected. Together, we’ll get curious about the patterns your mind has developed and why they’ve made sense in the past. We'll notice the difference between your inner wisdom and your inner alarm bell, and start building a relationship with both. Think of it like helping your overworked brain finally rest, while teaching it that calm isn’t dangerous- it’s deserved.

Together we’ll work on…

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

  • While I don’t specialize in OCD, I have experience supporting clients who live with it using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) principles.
These approaches can help reduce the impact of intrusive thoughts and compulsive behaviors by fostering acceptance, mindfulness, and gradual exposure. If you’re interested, we can discuss whether this approach might be a good fit for your needs. Please feel free to reach out with any questions!

  • That’s okay, and it’s something we can work through together. If you ever feel overwhelmed, please let me know! You can say something like, “This feels like too much” or “Can we slow down?” That kind of honesty is welcome and important here. That said, I also pay close attention to body language and emotional cues, so if I notice signs of shutdown or distress, I’ll gently pause us and guide you through grounding or coping strategies like deep breathing, orienting to the space, using touch, or offering kind words to your nervous system. Therapy is not about pushing through pain, but learning how to move through it at a pace that feels safe for you.
